Weekly Pool Tournaments at Isle of Capri
Each season our pool tournaments at the Isle of Capri draw a bigger crowd. Many of Polk County's best shooters now turn out to play, and the matches are quick, spirited and genuinely exciting. Beyond the Saturday 8-ball event, the Isle of Capri matches half of the prize purse, and the Saturday 8-ball game offers a guaranteed purse of $100.
Lots of pool players drop in at the Isle of Capri, so you can usually find a game at just about any time of day.
A True Story From the Tables
One afternoon a younger competitor challenged a top player to an 8-ball match. The younger player racked the balls, and Mike broke and ran the whole table. The young player racked again, and Mike ran the table a second time. You could see the younger player deciding whether to continue — at last he racked the balls a third time. Mike broke and ran two balls before missing the third. The young player took his shot and missed, and Mike cleared the rest of the table. The young player did not rack them again.
Come on down and test your own skills — you are sure to enjoy it.

Proud Sponsor of the APA
The Isle of Capri is a proud sponsor of four teams in the American Pool Players Association, better known as the APA. One of our teams won the Polk County Local Team Championship this year (2015) and in August will travel to Las Vegas for the world's largest amateur pool tournament. We are very proud of them and hope they bring home some winnings.
To show you how big this tournament is, here is a picture of the game room in Las Vegas.
If you love pool — or would like to learn — come on down. Walk in a stranger and leave as part of a caring family.
